Hawaiian Party Punch made with Rainbow Sherbet is a great festive party punch for your next Hawaiian Luau. It’s a tasty drink that also adds pretty color to your party table.

Sherbet in Punch Bowl

This recipe is based on one of my favorite punches. It’s easy to customize the juice and sherbet flavors depending on what kind of party you are having. For a Hawaiian Luau party, this flavor combination is perfect!

Rainbow Sherbet for Hawaiian Punch

Key to Success #1 – Soften the Pretty Rainbow Sherbet

The rainbow sherbet makes this such a pretty party punch.

All the colors mix together and make a pretty pattern on the top of the foam.

You’ll want to soften the sherbet on the countertop for a few minutes before you whip up this Hawaiian Punch.

If you’re short on time, you can pop the container of sherbet into the microwave for 20-30 seconds to help soften things up.

Mayyyybe we drank half of the punch before I got around to taking photos of it. Ooops.

Key to Success #2 – Make Sure the Liquids are Cold

Be sure to refrigerate the 7-Up and Hawaiian Punch before you make this punch.

Using cold liquids will ensure that your party punch is ready as soon as you are.

If you use room temperature liquids, your sherbet could melt faster than you want it to melt.

You can use ginger ale in place of the 7-Up and you could use pineapple juice in place of the Hawaiian Punch.

I thought the red color of the Hawaiian Punch would be perfect for our Hawaiian Luau party.

Key to Success #3 – Be Prepared to Make More

I’m here to tell you – this punch will go fast!

It’s super easy to make more on the fly though.

If you leave a container of rainbow sherbet out to soften, you can just dip the sherbet into the bowl then add the liquids and give it a mix.

That’s all it takes and you’re good to go.

I put my punch in my 9.5-inch glass trifle bowl.

It holds over 5 quarts of liquid and I had plenty of room left when I made this recipe.

You can also double or triple this recipe if your punch bowl is big enough.

Ingredients

  • 48 oz rainbow sherbet
  • 2 liter 7-Up or ginger ale
  • 60 oz Hawaiian Punch

Instructions

  • Let rainbow sherbet sit out for a few minutes to soften (or microwave for 20-30 seconds) then scoop sherbet out into punch bowl.
  • Pour 7-UP and Hawaiian punch over sherbet. Stir to break up large chunks of sherbet.

Notes

For a foamy punch, stir less and leave some smaller chunks of sherbet. For a smoother punch, stir until sherbet is completely incorporated.
