Over the weekend, we went down to Texas for a little adventure before things get too crazy around here. We got up bright and early on Saturday morning and headed over to Frank Buck Zoo in Gainesville, Texas. The zoo opened at 9:00 am and we got there between 9:30 – 10:00 am.
We ended up getting a very close parking space and the zoo was not busy at all. We got to take our time and really look at all the animals.
Emily took some of these pictures for me. She is quite good with the camera. I think she has an eye for photography. You can click on the photo to see a larger image.

Frank Buck Zoo has a really neat raised walkway through the safari animals yard. Emily was really interested in seeing the giraffes close up. When we first got to the walkway, the giraffes were across the yard so we kept walking. As we got toward the other side of the walkway, the giraffes started walking to where we’d just been so we hurried back and got some really neat pictures.
The only animals you can interact with at Frank Buck Zoo are some goats in the petting zoo. They were cute and funny though. You need quarters to buy food for the goats.
I’ll have more for you about our April Adventure in the days to come.
Have a great week!
