Do you ever notice the weeds and mess in other people’s yards? I certainly do. I look at those unkempt flower beds and those tall weeds and I wonder why people don’t take care of their stuff and make their place nice.
Every day when I walk Noah to the bus stop, there’s a house that has vines growing all over their fence. They look like a bunch of messy weeds and I have to push them aside just so that I can walk past. Annoying.
I was out in our yard earlier this week and I noticed, as I normally do, that the weeds along the farmer’s property on the other side of our fence were out of control and so high that I could barely see the view beyond them.
But then I started to notice all the little yellow butterflies floating around the weeds. One of the butterflies literally hit me in the face. And then it hit me in the face that the pretty butterflies were searching for the yellow sunflowers that were among the weeds.
Without the weeds, there wouldn’t be the sunflowers along the fence. Without the sunflowers, there wouldn’t be all the butterflies.
I really needed this reminder about taking the bad along with the good. God always knows exactly what we need and he provides for us even if we’re among the weeds.
Don’t let the bad things that come your way ruin your day or ruin your life. In Romans 8:28, the Bible says, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” It’s all in God’s Plan and his plan for your life is perfect if you just trust and follow him.
Not everything in your life is going to be good but by following God’s plan for your life, you can rise above your circumstances.
