This week started with me and Emily both being sick, but luckily it didn’t last too long. The only problem is that the cough just lingers and lingers. Anybody with me on that?

Emily Plays Keys
Despite being sick, Emily played the keys at church last Sunday. She did great and had fun doing it. She has learned so much about playing piano and playing in a group through this experience.
I’m thankful to all the members of the band that are mentoring and coaching her through this. She’s the youngest member of the band by far and has done a great job. She practices her music every week to be ready to play during the service.
She played keys again this week but I didn’t get any pictures. It’s really hard to get great pictures with all the stage lights.

Jimmy Mustard
The other day, we ordered sandwiches from Jimmy Johns for lunch. Do you have the Jimmy Johns app? I used it to customize and order our sandwiches then dad went to pick up our order.
In the app, you can specify who each sandwich is being made for and then Jimmy Johns will write the name on the wrapper.
I decided to have a little fun with it so I put Noah’s nickname on his, which they did. I put Emily’s nickname on hers, but they only put “Em.” I put Daddio on dad, but they just put Dad. And I put Old Lady on mine, but they only wrote a smiley face. I think they beat me at my own game!
Emily wanted mustard on her sandwich instead of mayo so I was looking through the app and I saw that they either had dijon mustard or Jimmy mustard so I picked Jimmy Mustard.
Emily took a bite of her sandwich and immediately started spitting stuff out. Apparently Jimmy Mustard is not regular yellow mustard! It has all these little seeds in it that Emily said were like tiny eggs.
PSA - Jimmy Mustard is not regular mustard.
Don’t say we didn’t warn ya! Jimmy Mustard does not cut the mustard at our house.

A Night at the Theater – Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Kids
On Saturday night, we went to the theater (theatre?) to see Mason perform as Grandpa in the Kids production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. We love watching Mason perform. He always does a wonderful job and this time was no exception.
I had to sit way in the back because I’m still on my knee scooter for another week. I loved seeing all the costumes and the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car was super cute and clever I thought. I don’t know how they make all those props. So neat.

Noah and Emily love going to the theater. Noah is absolutely perfect during the show. I can just see his mind working as he tries to figure everything out. I think it’s great that he gets to see the behind-the-scenes parts of the theater as part of his theater class.
How awesome is Mason’s costume? The cane is his own. He got it for Christmas. And his accent was spot on.

Oklahoma Winter Sunsets
Emily captured an absolutely stunning Oklahoma winter sunset the other night. She’s great behind the camera. In fact, she takes many of the pictures for our blog and I’m so grateful!
I love how she used a plant that had died back for the winter and brought it back to life in a sense through this photograph.

Beauty in the simplicity. The colors are amazing.
Super Bowl Snacks
Did your team win the big game this year?
Emily and I made some fun snacks for our Super Bowl party. We used our favorite pretzel dough recipe to make Pretzel Dogs in the Air Fryer. Then turned out fantastic. I’ll be sharing the easy recipe here on the blog this week.
We also tried our hand at making Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks, but we had some cheese leakage. They were delicious though so we’ll be trying a new technique another day to see if we can come up with a winning recipe.
I’m curious – what other recipes would like us to test and put on the blog? Let us know in the comments.
