This week has felt like such a winter week to me. There’s a reason they call it the dead of winter. It’s too cold and dark to get out and do anything.
If I looked back at the weather calendar, I’m sure I’d see plenty of sun. But I haven’t felt it in my bones.
Valentine’s Day
We celebrated Valentine’s Day on Tuesday night because we were already out and about after Noah’s theater class and we had other things going on later in the week. We went out to Olive Garden for some nice Italian food and had a really good time celebrating.
Oh Thursday night, I cooked Cajun Sausage Alfredo with Penne Pasta. It was delicious. We finished off with a Chocolate Mousse Pie for dessert. Yum!

Over the weekend, we got to celebrate Nanny’s birthday. On Saturday, we went to Uncle Julio’s Mexican restaurant and had a nice dinner with family.

We shared their chocolate pinata, which was so fun. It was full of fresh fruit and churros. They give you a big stick to whack the pinata and get all the goodies out. How cool!

Then on Sunday after church, we met Nanny at Texas Roadhouse for lunch. At the end of our lunch, they brought out the big saddle and we got to celebrate her again.

Monday was President’s Day and we hung around at home for more of the day. The kids played a game together while cuddling on the couch.
Tuesday turned out to be a snow day because of some ice and slick roads. We did some recipe testing that I’m planning to share with you later this week.
I hope you all are having a fantastic week and staying warm.
