We make so, so many of these chocolate covered marshmallows every year because the kids (and adults) just eat them all up.
I bet that if we made another bag of marshmallows, they would all be gone by the new year.
Hmmm, maybe that is an experiment that we need to do.
Kind of like the chubby bunny game.
Did you play that game when you were a kid?
It’s like, “How many marshmallows can you stuff in your mouth at once?”
Hmmm, sounds like a good time to me.

🔑 Key to Success #1 – Use Large Marshmallows
Chocolate-covered marshmallows are a super easy treat that you can make any time of year.
Don’t wait for a holiday to make these tasty little morsels.
For the perfect ratio of chocolate to marshmallows, be sure to use large store-bought marshmallows.
Not the jumbo ones. Not the small ones. Just the regular, large ones.
This will give you a perfect bite of marshmallow and creamy chocolate.
You can’t go wrong with this recipe.
You literally can’t mess it up.
🔑 Key to Success #2 – Use Chocolate Almond Bark
Instead of melting chocolate chip for these Chocolate-Coated Marshmallows, use chocolate almond bark instead.
Chocolate almond bark is sometimes called chocolate candy coating.
It’s found in the baking aisle of the local supermarket or you can find it on Amazon.
Chocolate almond bark is much easier to work with than melted chocolate chips.
If you use chocolate chips, you’ll need to temper it when melting.
The chocolate almond bark just melts so smoothly and has a great chocolate taste.
To dip the marshmallows in the chocolate, I like to use the Ateco chocolate dipping tool set.
It’s much easier to dip them using these tools than using toothpicks or a dinner fork.
Dip the marshmallows into the chocolate, then tap off the excess chocolate before laying them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper to dry and harden.
🔑 Key to Success #3 – Sprinkle … or Not
If you want to dress up your Chocolate-Covered Marshmallows, you can top them with sprinkles.
If you’re making them for a holiday, you can find some really cute sprinkles to celebrate all the different seasons.
You can look at craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael’s or you can find lots of options on Amazon.com.
While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the sprinkles over the whole marshmallow or just over the lower 1/3 of the marshmallow for a different look.
If you’re making these treats for kids, I think it’s a great idea to add the sprinkles.
I have found that adults are much less enthusiastic about the sprinkles.
Some types of sprinkles are hard to bite into and that’s why I like to leave off the sprinkles when I’m serving them to adults.
