Oreo Delight

🔑 Key to Success #1 – Start With an Oreo Crust

This luscious no-bake Oreo dessert starts off with a thick layer of Oreos in the crust.

I like to make my Oreo Delight in a 13X9-inch Fiesta lasagna baker.

It comes in so many pretty colors and is the perfect size for this no-bake dessert.

For the crust, you’ll want to crush up about two-thirds of the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.

I put the whole Oreo cookies in a gallon-sized zip-top baggie then use a rolling pin to crush them up.

Keep crushing them until the cookies are in small pieces.

They do not all have to be super tiny but you don’t want any large chunks.

Next, you’ll mix the melted butter into the cookie crumbs.

I do this right inside the zip-top bag. I just pour the butter into the bag with the Oreo crumbs then seal up the bag and shake it around a bit to get the crumbs fully coated.

After the crumbs are moistened, pour them into your 9X13-inch dish and press them firmly to form a crust.

It’s important to press them firmly so that they will stick together a bit.

🔑 Key to Success #2 – Make the Thick Cream Cheese Layer

The cream cheese layer is perhaps my favorite layer of Oreo Delight.

I don’t know though, I am a big Oreo fan too.

For the cream cheese layer, you’ll take a brick of cream cheese, a cup of powdered sugar, and half of a large tub of Cool Whip.

Or you can use one small tub of Cool Whip.

But be sure to let the cream cheese soften for an hour or more before you start.

This will make your job so much easier.

I start by using my hand mixer to mix together the cream cheese and the powdered sugar.

It will only take a minute or two for the cream cheese to come together if you’ve remembered to let the cream cheese soften.

Then I add in the Cool Whip and mix until it is just combined.

For the chocolate pudding layer, you can use whole milk or low-fat milk.

Either one works just as well. I normally use 2% milk.

I use the “shake” method where I add the 3 cups of milk and two boxes of chocolate pudding mix in a plastic bowl with a tight-fitting lid then shake the bowl until the pudding starts to thicken.

It’s quick and easy and less mess!

🔑 Key to Success #3 – Top With Oreos

For the top of the Oreo Delight, I use a layer of Cool Whip then a layer of Oreo crumbs and Oreo pieces.

Again, I put the remaining Oreos into a zip-top plastic bag and use a rolling pin to crush them up.

I like to leave some bigger pieces of Oreo cookies for the top.

You can use the larger chunks or just finely crush the cookies or use whole cookies if you’d prefer.

In my opinion, the more Oreos the merrier.

So I pile the top of my Oreo Delight high with Oreos.

You can put as much or as little as you’d like.

What size pack of Oreos would you recommend?

This recipe is very forgiving! I like to use the family size pack of Oreos, which is about 19 oz. And I usually get the regular Oreos, not the double stuff. Either would work though. This dessert is sooooo delicious!!
