Easter Blondie recipe with Cadbury Mini Eggs

Key to Success #1 – Start with Softened Butter

One of the key reasons you should use softened butter when baking Easter Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies is to ensure that your blondies have the perfect texture and taste.

By using softened butter, you are getting a consistency that enables the butter to incorporate better into your mixture.

The softness ensures that the butter is easier to mix with the sugar, allowing for air pockets and lightness to form in the batter.

By using softened butter, you are guaranteed to bake delicious, light, and fluffy Easter Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies.

To soften butter, you can take it out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature for a couple of hours.

However, if you are short on time, you can use a few other tricks to get your butter soft in no time!

One trick is to place your butter in the microwave for 15 seconds increments, making sure to check it between each interval.

This way, you ensure that the butter is soft, but not melted.

Whatever method you choose, using softened butter provides the perfect balance between firmness and ease of use.

Finally, there are many benefits of softening butter before creaming it with sugar.

When using softened butter, creaming it with sugar is much easier, and you get a smooth, creamy mixture.

Softened butter traps air more efficiently, which adds volume to your mixture, and results in lighter and fluffier Easter Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies.

Key to Success #2 – Don’t Over-bake the Blondies

Overbaking Easter Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies can cause them to become dry and hard, ruining the texture and flavor of the treat.

These blondies are made with melted butter and brown sugar, which give them a chewy and moist texture.

If they are over-baked, the moisture in the blondies evaporates, leaving behind a crumbly and dry texture.

This can be avoided by carefully monitoring the baking time and removing the blondies from the oven as soon as the top is golden brown.

Furthermore, over-baking can cause the mini eggs to burn and turn bitter.

These two ingredients are a major part of the flavor profile of Easter Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies, and over-baking can ruin their taste.

Chocolate chips and mini eggs that are burnt and bitter detract from the overall enjoyment of the treat. Thus, careful monitoring of the baking time and removing the blondies as soon as the top is golden brown will help preserve the rich and tasty flavor of the chocolate chips and mini eggs.

Key to Success #3 – Careful When Breaking the Cadbury Eggs for the Top

Cadbury Mini Eggs are a delicious Easter candy that is perfect for any seasonal baking recipe.

When incorporating these colorful candy-coated chocolate eggs into a dessert recipe, it is imperative to know how to crush them properly.

To crush the Cadbury Mini Eggs, it is recommended to place them in a plastic zip-top baggie and press them with the bottom of a glass until they crack or break open.

The reason behind this is to maintain the crunch and texture of the candy.

If they are crushed too finely, the candy will blend in with the batter, resulting in a loss of texture and flavor.

When making Easter Cadbury Mini Egg Blondies, stir half of the crushed eggs into the batter and press the rest of the pieces into the top of the dessert.

This method ensures that the candy is evenly distributed throughout the dessert while allowing the texture to shine through.

The top layer of Cadbury Mini Egg pieces gives the blondies a colorful and festive look.

The egg-shaped candy is also perfect for Easter-themed desserts and adds a touch of festive charm.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13-inch pan. Place the Cadbury Mini Eggs in a zip-top plastic baggie and use the bottom of a glass or a rolling pin to apply pressure to the candies so that they crack or split open. Do not finely crush.
  • In a large bowl using a hand mixer, cream together the butter and both kinds of sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in the eggs and vanilla until fully combined.
  • Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and mix until just combined. Use a spoon or spatula to gently stir in half of the broken Cadbury Mini Eggs, reserving the larger pieces for the top.
  • Spread the dough into the greased baking dish then top with remaining Cadbury Mini Eggs. Press the candy into the dough so that the colorful shell is facing up and the chocolate side is facing down.
  • Bake uncovered for 22-25 minutes until the blondies are golden brown on the top and the middle is set.
