Oreo Dip

🔑 Key to Success #1 – Make Your Own Whipped Cream

You can use prepared Cool Whip in place of the heavy whipping cream and 1 cup of powdered sugar, but making your own whipped cream is so much better.

If you make your own, be sure to chill the bowl and beaters before starting.

Whip until soft peaks form and then add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Beat together heavy cream, vanilla extract, and a cup of powdered sugar on high speed until thickened into pillowy soft peaks that will take any sweet treat to heavenly levels!

Then fold in the remaining 1/4 cup of powdered sugar.

Add a little sprinkling of vanilla if desired.

Just remember to keep everything chilled – especially the mixing bowl and beaters.

Whip the heavy cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar on high speed until the whipped cream is thick and forms soft peaks when you lift the beaters.

🔑 Key to Success #2 – Make Sure the Cream Cheese is Softened

Cream cheese straight from the fridge tends to be hard and it’s difficult to incorporate into your dip.

It is best to leave the cream cheese out on the counter for a few hours until it’s room temperature.

If you waited until the last minute to make your Oreo Dip, you can unwrap the cream cheese and pop it into the microwave on the defrost or low power setting for about 30 seconds until it softens a bit.

This will help it mix more easily with the other ingredients.

Next, add the softened cream cheese to a bowl and blend in the remaining ingredients.

Give it a taste and adjust as desired with additional sugar or cocoa powder if needed.

Serve chilled with your favorite Oreos and enjoy!

You just made an easy, delicious treat that you can be proud of!

Whether you served this to family, friends or just yourself, it was sure to be a hit.

Cookies and Cream Dip

🔑 Key to Success #3 – Add Oreo Pieces Right Before Serving

This Oreo Dip is absolutely delicious and perfect on its own, but even better with the addition of crunchy cookie pieces.

I like to use about 15 Oreos that I crush using a zip-top bag and either a rolling pin or wooden spoon just before serving for an added bit of crunch.

But if you prefer something else such as graham crackers or chocolate chips, feel free to experiment – there’s no wrong way here!

If you add the Oreo pieces in advance, the moisture from the dip will make the Oreo pieces too soft

And you’ll miss out on that delicious crunch that is found in classic Oreo cookies.

You can store the crushed up Oreos in the zip-top baggie until party time then just stir them right in.

You can also use a different cookie if you prefer, like graham crackers or chocolate chips!
