Italian Meatball Sub Sandwiches

Italian Meatball Sub Sandwiches are a super easy dinner option for busy families. You can use frozen meatballs and jarred spaghetti sauce to make dinner even faster.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 pkg, 6-count soft white sub rolls, uncut
  • 1 pkg frozen meatballs
  • 1 jar, 24 oz pasta sauce
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

Directions

  • In medium saucepan, combine frozen meatballs, pasta sauce, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Slice sub rolls being careful not to slice all the way through. Place 4-5 meatballs in each roll then top with additional sauce. Cover with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Bake sub sandwiches in oven for 10-15 minutes until sandwiches are hot and cheese is bubbly and starting to brown. 

Notes

Slow Cooker Instructions: Combine frozen meatballs, pasta sauce, and Italian seasoning in a 4-qt Crock Pot. Cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 2-3 hours until the meatballs are heated through.
Instant Pot Instructions: Combine frozen meatballs, pasta sauce, and Italian seasoning in the inner pot of the pressure cooker. Cook on HIGH pressure for 5 minutes.
