Make the Crumble Topping

  • In a small bowl, combine dry ingredients for the crumble topping. Use a fork to press the cold butter into the dry ingredients until the butter is combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Make the Apple Filling

  • Preheat air fryer to 370 degrees F. Grease four 6-ounce ramekins well.
  • Peel and core apples then cut into bite-sized pieces. Place apples in a medium bowl. Add in butter, flour, vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir to combine.
  • Divide apple mixture between four ramekins. Sprinkle crumble mixture over the apples.
  • Cook in the air fryer at 370 degrees for 15-17 minutes, until apples are softened and crumble is golden brown.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, if desired. 
Diabetic substitutions:
  • Reduce sugar in filling to 2 Tbsp
  • Eliminate sauce from filling
  • Try whole wheat flour in place of all-purpose flour
