Ingredients
 

  • 10 Frosted Sugar Cookies
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 8 oz candy melts, any color
  • 2 tsp solid shortening, such as Crisco
  • sprinkles, optional

Directions

  • Place the frosted sugar and the cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix on medium speed until the mixture forms a thick dough. (Keep mixing - it'll all come together in a few minutes.)
  • Form the dough into twelve 1 1/2-inch balls. Place the balls on a waxed paper-lined baking sheet.
  • Melt a small amount of the candy melts, dip a lollipop stick into the melted candy, and press it into the middle of the cake pop. Repeat for the remaining cake pops.
  • Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes until the candy is firm.
  • Melt the remaining candy melts with the shortening in the microwave on high power for 30 seconds. Stir well. Continue heating in 30-second increments until fully melted and smooth.
  • One at a time, dip the chilled cake pops into the melted candy melts and gently shake off the excess. Top with sprinkles or decorations of your choice.
