Ingredients

  • 1 box, 15 oz Butter Pecan cake mix
  • 2 cans, 21 oz apple pie filling
  • 1 jar, 14 oz caramel sauce
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice, or cinnamon
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup pecan halves

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Spread both cans of pie filling into the bottom of the baking dish. Drizzle caramel sauce over the pie filling. (May need to microwave the caramel sauce for 30 seconds until it is pourable.)
  • Place dry cake mix and sticks of butter (cold) in a medium bowl. Use a pastry blender or a fork to combine the butter with the dry cake mix.
  • Sprinkle cake mix and butter mixture over the caramel layer. Add pecans on top.
  • Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes.
  • Serve with ice cream or sweetened whipped cream.

Notes

  • You can use a food processor to combine the cake mix and cold butter. Pulse a few times until the mixture resembles coarse sand.
  • You can make your own caramel sauce! Click here for a super easy caramel sauce recipe.
