Rice Pilaf

Rice Pilaf is a super-simple side dish that pairs well with fish or chicken. The seasoned rice complements a variety of main dishes with just the right balance of flavor and the perfect texture. We love to serve this Seasoned Rice with some fresh salmon filets for an easy meal.

Ingredients

Directions

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter then add in the diced onion. Cook until the onions are soft and translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  • Stir in rice and chicken stock. Increase heat to medium-high.
  • Add in bay leaf, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  • Bring the rice to a boil then reduce heat to low. Cover.
  • Cook for 20 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed.
  • Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes. Remove and discard bay leaf. Fluff rice before serving.

Notes

  • Converted rice is the same as parboiled rice.
  • For best results, rinse converted rice with water before cooking.
  • You can substitute white rice if desired. The cook time will be the same.
