Key to Success #1 – Make a Delicious Cookie Base
The base of these Nutter Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars is a delicious chocolate chip cookie.
It uses all the classic ingredients, including butter, sugar, flour.
Then you add the good stuff – chocolate chips and crushed Nutter Butter Cookies.
Yes, add the Nutter Butters right into the cookie mix.
Key to Success #2 – Crush The Cookies
I like to put my Nutter Butter cookies into a zip-top baggie then crush them up with a rolling pin.
You don’t have to pulverize the dickens out of them though.
I like to leave some bigger chunks to add some texture to the Cookie Bars.
The Nutter Butters really add a nice peanut butter flavor to the cookie bars.
You can definitely taste the peanut butter flavor in them, both in the cookie bars and in the topping.
Key to Success #3 – Use Your Fave Chocolate
You can use any type of chocolate chips that you’d like in this recipe.
I prefer semi-sweet chocolate chips in chocolate chip cookies and it’s no different for this Nutter Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar recipe.
If you like milk chocolate chips, you can certainly go with that.
White chocolate chips would be great as well.
You can definitely substitute other chips too – peanut butter chips, maybe?
Whatever you use, I can guarantee they’ll be gone before you know it!
