Jalapeno Popper Dip

Jalapeno Popper Dip is a creamy cheese dip with just the right amount of jalapeno heat. Spicy but not too spicy. This hot dip is topped off with cheesy panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch then baked to perfection.

This appetizer is a great dip for parties or family get-togethers. It cooks up in only 15 minutes and can serve a crowd.

Jalapeno Popper Dip with sour cream

Key to Success #1 – Whip UP the Creamy Cheese Layer

The creamy cheese layer of this dip is made with cream cheese, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese sour cream, a little garlic for extra flavor, and jalapenos to bring the heat.

The jalapenos are the star of the dish so we’re adding in a 4-ounce can of diced jalapenos. Be sure to drain the jalapenos well.

You can use fresh jalapenos if you’d prefer. Remove the seeds then finely dice the jalapenos.

The cream cheese in this dip should be room temperature before you start mixing up the dip.

Using room temperature cream cheese will allow the dip to come together much easier.

If you’re using cream cheese straight out of the fridge, you can put the unwrapped block of cream cheese into the microwave on high power for about 15 seconds to soften it a bit.

Use a hand mixer to mix together the cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder. Blend until the mixture is creamy.

Next, stir in the shredded cheddar, Parmesan, and diced jalapenos. Just use a spoon or rubber spatula to stir the cheese mixture together.

Spread the cheese mixture into a 9×9-inch pie plate or baking dish. I love to use pretty pie plates for party dips like this.

The baking dish that you use doesn’t have to be exactly 9 inches square. It can be any shape as long as it’s similar in size.

Jalapeno Popper Dip

Key to Success #2 – Make the Crunchy Topping

The buttery topping for this Jalapeno Popper Dip is a combination of panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, butter, and fresh parsley.

You’ll want to use plain panko breadcrumbs, not the Italian variety.

If you don’t have any panko breadcrumbs, try substitution crushed Ritz crackers or another cracker of your choice.

In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs, a quarter-cup of Parmesan cheese, parsley and melted butter.

Spread the topping over the cheesy filling in your casserole dish then pop it into the oven to bake for about 15 minutes.

You’re just trying to melt the cheese and crisp up the topping. This is why the baking time is so short.

Jalapeno Popper Dip

Key to Success #3 – SErve with Chips, crackers or veggies

I love this Jalapeno Popper Dip with some Frito’s Scoops chips but it is great with tortilla chips or even crackers.

This dip is perfect for parties. It’s easy to make easy to take.

You can easily double this recipe for a large crowd as well.

Just put it into a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for about 20-24 minutes.

You are really just heating the dip through and making it hot and bubbly.

Anyway you serve up this dip, it’s sure to be a huge hit with your family or your guests.
