Key to Success #1 – Dip Your Favorite Oreos

These cute beach-themed treats start off with milk’s favorite cookies.

You can use any variety of Oreo cookies that you like in this easy recipe.

I used the classic Oreos, but any special flavor or even the Double Stuffed ones would work just as well.

We used royal blue candy melts instead of white chocolate to cover our Oreo cookies.

Candy melts are much easier to deal with and acquire the right color when it comes to dipping cookies and other goodies.

Because white chocolate is often a cream hue rather than pure white, whatever color you add will be mixed in with the cream color.

I like to use pre-colored candy melts unless I need a certain color that is not available commercially.

Candy melts may be found at Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, a number of big-box stores, and on Amazon.

They come in a range of blue shades as well as nearly any other color.

If you’re going to dye your own candy melts or almond bark, use gel food coloring and keep in mind that you may need to add a little more fat, such as Crisco shortening, to retain the dipping consistency.

Key to Success #2 – Use Goldfish Colors for Variety

I used Goldfish Colors to create a variety of goldfish colors, but you can also use ordinary Goldfish crackers if that’s what you have on hand.

You may want to use all of the colored goldfish or just a few of the colors.

It’s easy to customize the look of your party just by switching up the colors of the goldfish or the color of the candy melts for that matter.

Place a single Goldfish Cracker in the center of each Oreo and three small sugar pearls in a triangle from the goldfish’s mouth.

Your lovely goldfish will appear to be swimming blissfully in the blue waters.

You may find sugar pearls at your local craft store or purchase them on Amazon.

To arrange the sugar pearls in the right shape, I use a pair of precision tweezers.

They worked perfectly and sped up the process of making these Under the Sea Oreos significantly.

Key to Success #3 – Perfect Party Treat to Make in Advance

These adorable Oreo treats are perfect to make in advance of your party.

As you know, treats that can be made in advance are invaluable when you’re planning a party.

You’ll love how easy it is to make these treats.

My teenager helped me dip and decorate these treats before our party and they turned out great.

All that to say don’t be intimidated by these easy treats. If she can do it, you can do it too.

If you dip your cookies in advance, place them in a single layer in a covered dish so that they don’t get damaged before your party.
