Creamy Sausage Alfredo with Penne Pasta is an easy weeknight dinner for the whole family. It only takes about 15 minutes start to finish and is easy to customize for your family. You can use your favorite variety of pasta or make it as spicy as your family likes.
Only 5 Simple Ingredients
This Sausage Alfredo starts off with a rope of Hillshire Farms smoked sausage.
I prefer the beef variety but you can use any one you prefer.
The alfredo sauce is a mix of heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.
I added a little bit of Slap Ya Mama cajun seasoning.
My kids are not too keen on spicy foods but you could definitely add more.
I used penne pasta, but it would be wonderful with traditional fettuccine or your favorite pasta.
Cook that Pasta
Truthfully, it’ll probably take you longer to cook the pasta than to whip up the sausage and sauce.
Follow the package directions to cook the pasta.
Make sure you drain the pasta well.
Saute that Sausage
Start by cutting your sausage into 1/4 inch pieces them saute them over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.
Flip the pieces over a few times while cooking to heat all sides.
Make That Sauce
Add the heavy cream and spices then bring the mixture to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
The sauce will not be super thick at this point.
Add the Parmesan cheese. Now things will get really interesting as the sauce starts to thicken up.
Mix in the cheese well then add in the drained pasta.
Stir to coat everything well and there you have it – a delicious, creamy Sausage Alfredo with Penne Pasta.
YUM!
Serve with your favorite veggie or a green salad and a big ‘ol glass of iced tea.
Now tell me how good life is.
