🔑 Key to Success #1 – Do Not Substitute Ingredients

This Tomato Basil Soup recipe is super simple but the wonderful creamy flavor depends on the specific ingredients that are listed.

The only exception to this is the chicken broth.

If you’d prefer to use a vegetable broth, you could make that substitution.

The Bertolli brand Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce and the Bertolli brand Alfredo with Aged Parmesan Cheese sauce are non-negotiable to this recipe.

You can use another brand or another variety if you prefer it.

But I can’t guarantee that you’ll have a good result with a different brand or variety.

Why take a chance on anything less than perfection?

Stick with this brand and variety for guaranteed results that won’t let you down.

You can either use the slow cook setting for 2-3 hours or you can cook on HIGH pressure and set the timer for 0 minutes.

Yes! You can set the timer for zero minutes. It will come to pressure then immediately start to natural release the pressure.

If you want to make this Tomato Basil Soup in advance, you can heat in a Crock-Pot slow cooker.

Use the LOW heat setting and set the timer for 2-3 hours or longer.
