🔑 Key to Success #1 – Choose Your Favorite Green Beans
You can use any variety of green beans that you like.
I like to use Cut Green Beans in this recipe but you could also use French-style green beans or even fresh green beans.
If using fresh green beans, you’ll want to steam them or boil them until tender and drain them well before you add the sauce and the bacon.
You’ll want to use about 2 pounds of fresh green beans.
If using canned green beans, be sure to drain them well.

🔑 Key to Success #2 – Make the Bacon Crispy
For these Brown Sugar Bacon Green Beans, you’ll want to start with crispy bacon.
My favorite way to make bacon is in my Air Fryer.
Frying bacon in the Air Fryer is quick and easy and it doesn’t make a big mess on the stove.
You can also fry your bacon in a pan on the stove or on a sheet pan in the oven.
Make sure the bacon is cooked crispy.
I like to use Wright Brand Thick-cut Bacon but you could use thinner bacon if you prefer.
After you get it crispy, drain it well on a paper towel to reduce the amount of grease in your green beans.
After you drain the bacon, break it into pieces then toss it in with the green beans.

🔑 Key to Success #3 – Cook the Easy Way in the Microwave
When I’m making these Brown Sugar Bacon Green Beans for family dinner, I usually have other things in my oven so this side dish is perfect to cook in the microwave.
You can cook your green beans in the microwave in just a few minutes.
If you cook it in a microwave-safe serving dish, you’ll only have one dish to clean up.
If you’d prefer, you can also make this side dish in the oven or on the stovetop.
In the oven, I’d suggest cooking at 350 degrees F for about 30 minutes.
On the stovetop, just heat on medium until warmed through, about 10-15 minutes, stirring often.
