Air Fryer Crescent Dogs are a fun little snack or quick meal that are a detour from your normal Hot Dogs with buns. They cook up in just minutes in the Air Fryer. So good!

Sunday nights are usually a night where we make something “fun” – not a big meal but more of a light snack night.
We made Crescent Dogs in the Air Fryer the other week and they were a big hit!

Key to Success #1 – Crescent Rolls or Crescent Sheets
Have you seen the crescent sheets in your grocery store?
It’s basically a tube of refrigerated crescent roll dough but it’s not cut into the typical triangles. It’s just all in one big sheet.
For this Crescent Dogs recipe, you can either use the crescent rolls or the crescent sheets.
I had the crescent sheets so that’s what I used. If you’re using the crescent sheets, cut the sheet into 8 equal pieces.
Wrap each portion of dough around one hot dog.
It’s okay if the hot dog is not completely covered with the dough. I like to leave the ends of my hot dogs out.

Key to Success #2 – Line the Air Fryer basket with Foil
The crescent dough has a tendency to get baked into the holes in the air fryer basket.
To prevent this, you can line the bottom of your air fryer basket with a square of aluminum foil.
Be sure to spray the foil with olive oil to keep the dough from sticking.
One word of caution – the Air Fryer has a powerful fan inside it that will blow the foil out of place if there is nothing on top of it.
For this reason, I recommend preheating the Air Fryer without the foil and only adding it when you’re ready to cook the Crescent Dogs.
Key to Success #3 – Do the Dip Dip Dip
One of the best things about Air Fryer Crescent Dogs is dipping them in your favorite sauces and condiments.
If you’re making these for a group of hungry kids, you could line up ketchup, mustard, cheese sauce, honey, salsa, or any number of other dips for these Crescent Dogs.
What’s your favorite dipping sauce?

A good little dip for them is a mix of ketchup, mayo and a dash of hot sauce mixed together
Melinda, that sounds like a delicious dip!
Great quick smealkids love quick and easy With French fries
I agree with Collette. I used my Philips XXL air fryer with its grill plate, using the regular pre-cut crescent rolls. I skipped the aluminum foil because the grill plate is non-stick. DH was amused by the grid pattern created by the holes in the grill plate. After 5 minutes at 400F, the bread was already dark brown. At 350F, I would check at 4 minutes for doneness. However, DH loved the buttery bread surrounding his hot dog.
Love this recipe; made it with Lightlife Smart Dogs and cooked them perfectly. AF times likely vary and found mine cooked in 3 minutes per side. Thanks for the recipe.
Croissant hot dogs! These were great! Cooking time was about 11min, turning have way through. I was only able to do 4 at a time due to cramping and incomplete cooking. Next time I might use the rack for a second layer, poking holes (small) in the foil to allow for even cooking on both layers.
I am a oriental flavoring fan used regular mustard mixed with Chinese mustard powder, a little sriracha/ chili sambal! Thanks for listing!!!
We’re so glad you enjoyed it. And your sauce sounds totally delicious!
Don’t follow temp and time instructions in this; it just burns the outside and doesn’t cook the dough through. Would go 350 for 6min a side in future
Thank you for the feedback. A lot of the differences in time and temp can be attributed to different brands and sizes and power of air fryers. The time and temp in this recipe has worked perfectly over and over in my air fryer.
@Collette, thanks for the tip!
