These pre-made rolls are a time-saving solution that delivers the perfect balance of fluffy texture and sweet cinnamon flavor.

With Pillsbury Grands, you can skip the hassle of making dough from scratch and still create mouthwatering cinnamon rolls with ease.

🔑 Key to Success #2 – Cool the Ghosts Before Frosting

To ensure the perfect presentation of your ghost-shaped cinnamon rolls, it’s important to follow a crucial step – cooling the rolls before frosting.

This step may seem minor, but it plays a significant role in achieving the best results for your spooky treats.

After baking the cinnamon rolls, it’s tempting to dive right into the fun part of decorating them.

However, allowing the rolls to cool completely before applying the frosting will make the process much easier and more successful.

When the rolls are still warm, the frosting may melt and become runny, resulting in a messy and less appealing appearance.

By giving the rolls enough time to cool down, you allow them to firm up slightly, making them easier to handle and frost.

The frosting will adhere to the rolls more smoothly and evenly, creating a neater and more professional look.

Plus, cooling the rolls ensures that the frosting will stay in place once applied, so your ghost-shaped cinnamon rolls will retain their spooky designs without any smudging or sliding off.

Taking a bit of extra time to cool the rolls before frosting will greatly enhance the overall presentation of your ghost-shaped cinnamon rolls.

The added effort will be well worth it when you see the delight on your family and friends’ faces as they admire and enjoy these adorably spooky treats.

🔑 Key to Success #3 – Candy Eyeballs Make for Adorable Ghosts

Adding candy eyes to your ghost-shaped cinnamon rolls is a simple yet effective way to give them a playful and cute appearance.

These tiny edible decorations bring your ghosts to life, transforming them from mere cinnamon rolls into irresistible treats that are sure to captivate both children and adults alike.

The eyes can be easily found at most baking or craft stores, and they come in various sizes and colors.

Opt for the classic white eyes with black pupils for a traditional ghost look, or get creative and try different colors to customize your ghosts.

With candy eyes, the possibilities are endless!

To attach the eyes, simply place them on the cinnamon rolls right after you’ve finished frosting them.

Gently press the eyes into the frosting, ensuring they adhere securely.

The contrast between the white eyes and the warm brown cinnamon rolls creates a visually appealing effect that adds to their overall charm.

By adding candy eyes, you not only make your ghost-shaped cinnamon rolls more visually appealing but also bring an element of fun and whimsy to your presentation.

These cute little eyes will truly make your ghosts come alive and take your spooky treat to the next level.

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Unroll each cinnamon roll three quarters of the way and fold the long strip of dough into three humps on the bottom of the coiled center to form the bottom of the ghost.
  • Place ghost-shaped dough onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining rolls.
  • Bake 14-16 minutes until the cinnamon rolls are puffy and light brown. Remove from oven and allow cinnamon rolls to cool for at least 10 minutes.
  • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the frosting that came with the cinnamon rolls. Stir well until the frosting is smooth. Use a knife to spread the frosting over the cinnamon rolls.
  • Place two candy eyeballs over the center swirl of the cinnamon rolls for the ghost's eyes.

Notes

For super white icing, you can omit the can of frosting that came with the cinnamon rolls and instead combine 1/2 cup of powdered sugar with 4-5 drops of milk then stir into a thick frosting. This can be used to outline the ghost figure or spread over the cooled cinnamon rolls.
