🔑 Key to Success #1 – Cut Chocolate Cake Into 1-inch Squares

To start creating your Easter Dirt Cake decorated with Marshmallow Peeps Bunnies and Cadbury Mini Eggs, the first key step is to cut the chocolate cake into 1-inch squares.

This will ensure that each layer of your dessert is uniform in size and provides the perfect base for the delicious layers of pudding and candy to come.

To make sure your cake layers are even, start by cutting the 9×13-inch cake into thirds.

Next, use a sharp serrated knife to cut one third into 1-inch cubes.

Then put the cube into your trifle bowl then add a pudding layer and an Oreo cookie crumb layer.

Go back and cut another third into cubes and repeat the process until all the cake is used up.

🔑 Key to Success #2 – Use Less Milk in the Pudding for Thick and Fluffy Texture

Another secret to achieving the perfect texture for your Easter Dirt Cake is to use less milk when preparing the pudding.

This will result in a thicker, more luxurious pudding layer that complements the other elements of the dirt cake.

Additionally, the thicker pudding layer ensures that it will set up nicely between the layers of cake and Oreo cookie crumbs.

🔑 Key to Success #3 – Crush Oreos One Third At A Time

For the perfect finishing touch to your Easter Dirt Cake, it’s essential to crush the Oreos one-third at a time using a food processor.

Simply place 12 Oreo cookies in your food processor and pulse them a few times until they are fine crumbs.

Use the crumbs to completely cover the pudding layer.

Then repeat the layers and crush up another 12 Oreos for the next layer, and so on.

This easy trick achieves the perfect amount of fine cookie crumbs quickly and easily, resulting in a smooth and uniform layer in your dessert.

And if you have a few Oreo cookies leftover, these Oreo Cinnabites only need 9 Oreos!

Talk about a bonus!

🐰 Decorating with Marshmallow Peeps and Easter Candy

For an extra touch of festive fun, decorate your Easter Dirt Cake with Marshmallow Peeps and colorful Easter candy.

Cut skewers down to size then insert the flat end into the bottom of a Peeps Bunny.

Next, press the skewer firmly into the top of the dirt cake to secure the Peeps into place.

Finish off your design by placing a few pastel-colored jelly beans, chocolate eggs, or even edible flowers into the Oreo dirt layer.
